He described the law as one of the most important laws. The bill was drafted with the assistance of the International Labor Organization and based on international standards. All the principles of human rights and gender equality are protected.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that through the law, foreign workers would be treated in a more organized and better way, and their rights would be protected, while the rights of local workers in providing job opportunities for local workers get.

Qubad Talabani stressed that in the new labor bill, the rights of children and women would be more protected.

The labor force in the Kurdistan region is largely unregulated, with consequences on the region's economy.

Unofficial figures put the number of foreign workers in the Kurdistan region at 22 thousand. They come mostly from Bangladesh, the Philippines and the regions, and most of them work in the service industry.

KRG expected to resume oil export

Bassem Mohammed, Iraqi Deputy Oil Minister, disclosed that the imminent meeting aims to address key aspects of the oil export resumption. He emphasized the expectation of reaching a consensus during the discussions, leading to a formal agreement for the recommencement of oil exports. Additionally, Mohammed underscored the companies' expressed interest in maintaining their operations within the Kurdistan Region.

He articulated, "The contracts under consideration must align with the framework established in the agreements signed with the UAE Crescent Company during the fifth phase of licensing." Israeli Defense Minister announces 'complete siege' on Gaza

Earlier on Sunday, footage from both Ashkelon and Sderot cities also showed army tanks in the streets as they reportedly moved towards the border with Gaza.

On Saturday, Hamas launched its biggest attack on Israel in decades, firing thousands of rockets and sending fighters who infiltrated Israeli towns near the Gaza Strip.
